Same problem at launch as with Steins;Gate 0. Copy Launcher.exe as Boot.bat and you won't have a problem. Also there may be some sound issues (sync with character motion, quality of sound), but they are not critical. Game performs great.
Some tweaks (optional): If you have some graphical glitches at first Mako reactor, in Launcher options turn on Original Graphic mode. Or you may continue playing like that, those glitches were only in one area and it doesn't affect the gameplay, however I cannot guarantee that they won't be later in game. What was tested: All Midgar section, Moving and Fighting in Encounters in Global Map. Performance: Awesome

Replacing boot.bat file with renamed Launcher.exe from the same folder.
With connected gamepad, input may be looped (for example, eternal scrolling through menu).
Simply: Rename boot.bat file to something different (or get it out of folder) Rename launcher.exe file to boot.bat Set in your Launch Settings "JP" (or "ZHT", or "ZHC", if you are interested in Chinese versions) Don't use Proton Hotfix, change it to 9.0-4 or older versions (I tested 8.0-5 too, worked exactly the same). And be ready that there may be some trouble with gamepad. Works fine on keyboard and mouse, though. Usual MAGES stuff.
