I can't do the fix most people are reporting because the config folder doesn't get created when I launch the game through Steam. I tried running it straight through wine because people said that worked flawlessly. The config file is created and I can edit to to be DirectX12, but I still get a black screen just with sound now. TLDR: Unable to get it to work no matter what I've tried. X11 kind of works but is so laggy it's pretty much unplayable.

Black screen on Steam launcher, but no config folder created so I can't edit the config file like everyone else. I even tried creating the folder path that everyone else is linking to, but it still didn't work. Running with Wine it goes to black screen with sound if I change the config file to renderer DirectX12, and with X11 it loads fully but is so laggy it's pretty much unplayable.
