Running the game goes to unresponsive black window. I couldn't make the alt-enter trick work.
If you want to play cross-platform multiplayer with Windows players, using Proton works surprisingly well.
There is some "stripey" graphical artifacting on shadows. It's minor and doesn't bother me personally. Otherwise works like native.
Online multiplayer works cross-platform on Linux with multiple Windows players, as good or better than on Windows!
The multiplayer mode is still in beta at time of playing, and online multiplayer is very glitchy even when every player is using Windows. I still encountered issues playing multiplayer on Proton, but I actually had FEWER issues on Linux/Proton than I did playing multiplayer on Windows native with the same Windows players. I have played multiple multiplayer games with Windows players for 2+ hours each.
Considering that the native Windows multiplayer is still glitchy, and Proton multiplayer is as good or better, I rate the Proton cross-platform multiplayer as excellent.
