I've played close to 50 hours, mostly with a full party, often as the host and sometimes as a client.
I have had 2 lockups in the lobby (home base) when solo. The lobby in general is a little less smooth running, but still generally over 100fps. But the missions have run perfectly so far.
Runs great on my machine.. until it freezes up on a load screen and corrupts X11 forcing me to drop to a virtual terminal to kill it.
Once a savegame failed to load and brought up the report screen with a missing object error.
The known cutscene loading bug which affects all versions, but particularly affecting Wine/Proton. Game-breaking, unable to continue game.
The images in the tutorial screens do not load. Not critical, but problematic for learning the interface.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
- GloriousEggroll's Proton fork: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
- with newer DXVK DLLs mentioned at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5150 installed the Wine prefix and GE directory
- setting DXVK version in Lutris to "Manual"
- using game version 1.0.2e from GoG
Tutorial images don't display, which could be a problem for people trying to learn the UI
- The DLL hack probably won't be necessary once Proton or Lutris gets the latest release of DXVK
- The GE fork of Proton is probably not necessary to run P:WotR, but it works well for my setup
- There is theoretically a way for Lutris to manage custom DXVK versions for you but I wasn't able to get it to work, thankfully the "Manual" setting will use the WINE prefix or Proton version instead
EAC Broken
Project Playtime's devs decided to use Easy Anti-Cheat and also went with a varient which does not work with Proton. Now, upon launch, the game reports "Anti-Cheat is not opened." and exits.
