Enabled back grip buttons (where my hands rest) for quick shifting on the right side. Game has inbuilt controller support, but the default controls are not one-size-fits-all, so do customize them to how you need them. (ex: By default, users on the steamdeck cannot enable jake brakes, useful for trucking on the south island)
Runs hot and drains power fast at default settings. See below for further details.
Game needs an optimization update in general, as my main workstation also runs hot with this game. The default graphics settings drains battery fairly quick on a Steamdeck LCD 512gb model*. Dropping down the settings to Medium, and dropping the resolution scale worked wonders, though I would personally keep view distance high if you're playing on a large multiplayer server like I am due to heavy desync**.
*: My steamdeck is not running SteamOS, but rather Bazzite (Fedora Atomic Desktop). The APU was undervolted at the time of testing. The kernel is also far newer than SteamOS Holo's (6.12.12)
**: Desync is not the fault of Proton, Linux, or anything client-side, but is rather a limitation of the dedicated server implementation and server processing power. I do not expect this to be fixed as there is only one programmer and two modelers working on the game.
