Soft-lock at title screen, completely unable to enter start menu. "Press Any Button" -> "Returning to title menu" -> "Press Any Button".
On a hunch, I think Dark Souls 3 may have trouble reading/writing configuration data that would normally be saved in steamapps/compatdata/374320/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/DarkSoulsIII/
On windows, DS3 save games and settings are normally saved in the user's AppData/Roaming/DarkSoulsIII directory. On my machine, this directory did not exist. Creating the directories and moving a save+config from Windows ended in the same soft-lock. Even after triple-checking permissions and ownership (and trying different Proton versions for good measure) DS3 fails to pick up settings and subsequently soft-locks at the title-screen. I can tell the DS3 isn't picking up the settings file because it defaults to Fullscreen when I have the configuration file set to Windowed.
Game runs just fine on windows on the same hardware. :/
