An enjoyable, problem-free experience.
Slow texture loading. Sometimes, characters looked blurry for a second or two after entering dialogue or a cutscene.
The game ran better than I expected. Hopefully, this applies to you as well.
Regarding mods: I did manage to mod the game without experiencing any issues afterwards. I could not paste into the Script Extender Console. I added mods by manually adding them to the load order.
NB! My GPU is a 3060 mobile. I do not know why Steam only informs about the integrated graphics.
Just werks (on my machine)
I have experienced equal or better performance on Linux than on Windows. Loading screens seems to be faster as well. I do not know if this is bias, me remembering wrong, or the game just running better on Linux (on my machine of course).
NB! Graphics card: 3060 mobile
The vanilla experience (plus basics like engine fixes, display tweaks, uessp etc.) is very good.
Tinkering done as part of modding
CTD when Alt-Tabbing. I do not know why, and I have not tried to solve this issue.
Regarding modding: I have not encountered issues with what I concider to be the most essential mods, like engine fixes and improvements, some frameworks and patches. Mod performance seems to be slightly lower on Linux than on Windows. Some mods wont work (can also be the case on Windows), and a few seems to make the game into a Powerpoint-presentation.
NB! As previously mentioned, I mod my game. I do not play Skyrim without mods.
Mods I find essential, mostly some frameworks, patches, engine fixes and added functionality, seems to work without issue. Some mods have severe performance issues. Overall, I think its fair to expect that some mods won't work, and that you can't run with as many mods as you can on Windows.
Mod Organizer 2: Installed with the MO2 Linux installer from rockerbacon on GitHub. Encountered no issues with the installation. Connecting to Nexusmods works. Some external tools like Nemesis and DynDoLod seems to work.
Just works
As mentioned, the game just works. I have not experiences any performance loss.
NB! GPU: 3060 mobile (6gb)
