Menuing was unexpectedly slow, but switching to GE Proton fixed this.
No other issues! Game works pefectly.
Attempting to swtich to fullscreen crashed the game, but was fine once the game was relaunched.
Loading up a fresh map gave me some initial stuttering in the van. Leaving the van and going outside/into the actual map relieved this and I was back to a stable FPS, but the performance issues returned whenever I was in the van. Reducing graphical settings and turning a few things back on one by one relieved this for good.
Overall great experience! Game and multiplayer perform well. Just needs a bit of love to get running smoothly.
This game is very finnicky with alt-tabbing. Sometimes trying to alt-tab back to the window will open it for a split second, then it will minimize on its own again. I've found closing my Steam library window helps this somewhat. Even after, sometimes alt-tabbing will bring you to a mostly-black window with a smaller resolution screen in the top left corner. Alt-tabbing back and forth fixes this, but it's very inconsistent. Just be aware if you plan on alt-tabbing a lot while playing this game. Windowed mode doesn't help either, and switching between Proton Experimental and GE-Proton didn't seem to make a difference.
Playing this out of the box works just fine, however a majority of my testing occured after installing OldUnreal's 227f patch for Linux. OOBE is great for anyone who wants a classic, no-frills, low-res experience.
