Works great. As others mentioned there are a few stuttering issues but doesn't really affect the gameplay. Graphics looks great and sound is good so overall it's great. Also, yes, it does error when exiting the game, but I don't really class that as having any negative impact towards the gaming experience itself.
Before updating to latest beta version of proton and pre-410 nvidia drivers this game would load. Now it loads and I can play it. The graphics aren't quite as dynamic as the windows version and there are some issues with some menu elements not showing. Also when in-game, the pause menu seems to break with no items and just a scrolling background texture. Having said that, the area I just played through did work just fine with perfect sound, steam controller, and visuals.
Black screen then crash reporter. Even the crash reporter crashes if you attempt to submit it, :'(
Game works perfectly after administering the common mfplat.dll fixes referenced in many other comments and games.
The game boots up just fine but you need to apply the xact, xaudio2_7 winecfg patches otherwise the sound crackles and ticks constantly. Also, none of the video cut scenes play at all so you end up playing with practically no context as to what is happening story-wise, which ruins the game for me. Other than that it runs "OK", performance is a little underwhelming but acceptable.
Note for Steam Controller users: You might want to change the RS settings from "Joystick Move" to "Joystick Camera", I found this to be a more pleasant experience.
Game seems to work perfectly. Only issue I faced was no sound through HDMI, but that resolved when I selected that output device in my sound settings and since then the game runs with sound every time, so may not even be related.
I'd tried running this before on non-beta proton / pre 4xx nvidia drivers which produced a bad framerate and weird glitches (unlit textures and faces, lagging, audio sync issues, etc.). However, my current setup version works perfectly with everything maxed out on 4k, even with SMAA enabled. No texture, audio, video, or gameplay issues found during session. Very, very, happy now!
