Single player worked perfectly out of the box, but multiplayer matches would disconnect right after joining. I followed the fix posted here and it solved the problem: https://www.protondb.com/users/171051558#D0_SuRMYn8
The graphical problems I have are not bad enough that I can be bothered spending more time trying to fix them.
Was able to launch the game using the launch options: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Graphical glitches (phantom geometry) in certain mission types. Severe enough that it makes the game difficult to play, but affects only around 5% of total play time and occurrences are predictable. 95% of the time the game is completely fine.
I first got this game running with Proton 5.0-10 (plus some launch options) using "NVIDIA driver metapackage from nvidia-driver-390", but there were graphical problems. The game also ran at a pretty poor framerate, but it was playable. I'm using a >7 year old laptop, so my expectations were pretty low.
I am now using "NVIDIA driver metapackage from nvidia-driver-460" and Proton 6.3-6 (the experimental did not work). Not only are the graphical problems completely fixed, but the game runs WAY more smoothly now.
Runs fine
Didn't run on Proton Experimental, but ran fine on Proton 6.3-6, no launch options needed. There was a brief bit of slowdown at first, but this ended after the opening sequence (which is a matter of seconds).
First tried using Proton 8.0 (most recent at the moment) but the game failed to launch (some error message about "spooge"). Saw others suggest 5.0 here so I tried that next and it worked flawlessly.
