on first start, my bluetooth headset got borked and I had to re-connect it to make it play audio again; no further issues on subsequent starts
game starts to stutter 20-40 Minutes into gameplay when moving the mouse, but can be solved by adding the provided launch option or unplugigng the mouse and playing with controller; more details at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/11446

Crashes in graphics settings
using GE-Proton9-4 makes the beta build on 7th Feb of the game crash in the graphics settings, while in windowed mode on 1080p
the game very quickly freezes during gameplay, forcing CPU usage to be stuck at 100%, even when it was well below 50% previously
framegen needs to be disabled for anything other than the menus to render
the game crashes also my freezes my desktop environment for a while, due to the GPU being completely blocked when they happen
After the open beta never managed to run without constant crashing on this very same system, I tried running the full release with Proton Experimental (Bleeding Edge Beta Branch) a day after release and the game hasn't crashed a single time in ~4 hours.
Ver. 1.010.00.00 of the game crashes on start and freezes desktop environment (KDE)

The typical gamer cannot run this game if they experience the same performance issues I am facing.
I had to completely turn off and overwrite all controller settings in Steam, including options hidden in Steam Big Picture Mode to make the gamepad (wired XBox 360 controller) work with the game.
The game consistently runs between 25-30 FPS regardless of most graphics settings.
min graphics settings on 1080p vs max/ultra on 1440p don't even make an average difference of 5 FPS. With motion blur, AA and DOF turned off, the performance of 1080p lowest and 1440p highest settings is identical.
This is with V-Sync on on a 1440p 144Hz display. Turning V-Sync off introduces significant frame stutter. All CPU cores are idling around 30% (via system monitor) most of the time, the GPU pipeline is constantly at 100% (radeontop).
I tried Proton Experimental, Proton 5.13-4 and Proton 5.21-GE-1. There were no observable differences between the versions.
FPS measured with Steam overlay. Turning the overlay off doesn't introduce a discernible performance difference.
I also tried the launch options mentioned on other reports. Those didn't result in a discernible performance difference.
cannot get past main menu
Crashes While Starting
Normal Steam installation. Both with proton experimental and 6.3-2 the game tries to launch, briefly shows an empty black window and then closes again. The Logs show unhandled page faults on read access to to 0xffffffffffffffff in 64-bit code at the time of the crash, with other apparently non-critical errors shortly before.
parts of the game prevent other windows from being overlayed over the game and minimizing the game does not help, so e.g. pulling up a password manager to log-in only works if the game is pushed to a different virtual desktop
you cannot make real money purchases in the shop, because the payment window never opens; some web content, like surveys, barely work and often either ignore mouse and keyboard inputs, or takes 5+ seconds to register them
when first launching the game after installing it via Steam, it never opened a window, then closed again, simply trying a second time fixed the problem and it hasn't come up again since
