Works normally in proton. The game runs using the Quake engine you can probably run it with a native Linux-based engine
You still need protontricks to get the game running. Use the command "protontricks 434570 dotnet40", and then the game works great
Runs out of the box perfectly except for minor blood effects
Minor blood graphics are given a rainbow effect occasionally, during in game and in cutscenes
Small one second lag during events where you punch walls revealing big areas
Fullscreen breaks after escaping, you will have to force fullscreen through your desktop environment to get it working again
Extreme framerate issues after starting the campaign (not a problem in the menu or tutorial) makes it unplayable
There is no back button in the video settings menu so you are forced to restart to go back to the game
Extreme framerate issues (5FPS) even on lowest graphics settings
gamemoderun %command% PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
Some people might have a better time forcing the game to run in Vulkan using -force-vulkan in the launch options (ideally this would be the best option). Unfortunately it's a single core game (because Unity) so shader compilation will take absurdly long and is probably not worth the wait. If there's any way to somehow compile the shaders in multicore that would be great
gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 60 -f -- %command%
The protontricks command is not necessary to launch and run the game, however it is required to fix glitched out water effects
Water reflections don't work until d3dx9_41 is installed
This game has no options to run in a windowed mode, and does not resize properly if sent to a secondary monitor of a different aspect ratio. Both of these issues are fixed by launching in gamescope
protontricks 214510 d3dx9_41
Works perfectly, feels like a native game.

Works perfectly under Wayland with no configuration
Very rare freezing that seems to happen only once per campaign
I don't see how or why copying SDL2.dll from another game (Quake II) was supposed to work
Steam Overlay doesn't work with Fullscreen, must switch to Windowed Fullscreen
Very choppy framerate on Score Attack and Classic Score Attack gamemodes
There is framerate issues on both Classic and Modern Score attack gamemodes for some reason but the other multiplayer gamemodes like Connected and Connected Vs play perfectly.
Works pretty flawlessly without any setup, however I wasn't able to test much of this game because of no English language support offered.
escaping/minimizing from full screen will freeze the frame and not update the graphics, so you will have to restart
