Game crashes regularly, unenjoyable.
A lot of hiccups.
Freeze and Crash
Other reports seem to say it's all good, so it is unclear why it freezes regularly for me. Too many variables.
First time playing, it froze in the options before beginning the game. Second try, it froze while playing the first level.
Freezes Computer
I saw a window, then it went fullscreen, the mouse cursor changed to an in-game one. The cursor does not move. Whole computer frozen.
The latest leaders DLC still don't work on native linux. Proton version has them, but computer freeze during play if I use proton. Life suck
All the latest leaders are missing.
Switched my desktop environment from plain Openbox to KDE Plasma. With this single change, now the game works. Seems like Openbox is having issues with fullscreen lately and whatnot.
I made a report that the game did not launch this morning. That was because of openbox. I figure I would try KDE Plasma since it's what the steam deck has and now it works.
Bad library
I start Steam on the command line to see the log, and I get the following message: You're missing vital libraries to run Total War SHOGUN 2 I think the game was bundled with old libs of a specific distro that requires other specific libs to be present that don't really exist for my distro. I do have multilib enabled and some basic lib32 stuff installed but I don't want to tinker.
A weird grey line coming from my character sometimes.
Random hiccup.
Selling items too fast causes a crash every time.
Using Arch-based KDE Wayland.
Very often, saving manually will be fake. If you return in the save menu, the timestamp of whatever save you overwritten won't have updated. Trying a few times does the trick.
