As unknowncross already reported, using the launch option of "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" allows the game to launch and play flawlessly.
Tinker Steps:Switch to experimental, Set launch options
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Game works flawlessly with the right launch option, so far haven't ran into any issues.
