Shows as "Running" but the game never shows up

With Proton version from 1 to 3 when I start to play, Steam shows as I run Apex but the game never actually shows up. With Proton 6.3-8 the game actually launches but it indefinitely tries to load the game on the loading screen

Running with Proton fixes Gamepad issues that appear in the Native version of the game

Native version has problems detecting a gamepad (both Xbox Series X and Dualsense PS5). Running it with Proton allows the game to be played with a gamepad. No degradation in performance or any other issues while running with the compatibility layer

At first game did not start. It was stuck at "Running install script (Microsoft DirectX)". Fixed it by installing Steam from flatpak and running the game from this version
