The native version is out of date. In order to play online, you must use proton.
If you are moving from windows to linux. your saves won't work on the native version. use proton to fix this.
Can't play online with native version. use proton to fix this.
Both native and windows versions are playable on linux but the native version is not up to date.
Works just like Windows, bugs and all
Had to set "framerate locking" to "unlimited" to fix the constant stuttering.
The stutter problem is also on windows, so I don't blame proton for it.
The game started crashing on startup due to me changeing the fullscreen option to borderless. I had to deleat my INI file to make it stop. I did this using proton tricks to launch explorer, then navagated to C:\users\steamuser\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76 and deleated the two .ini files there. there are outher ways to deleat them without using proton tricks, but this is how I did it.
DO NOT GO BORDERLESS! It will cause crashes.
The game will hang when exiting. It must be closed by force.

I get A glitchy, black window without Proton: GE and protontricks. I keep the fps capped as old games are known to have problems above 60 fps.
It worked once, then never agin.
It always gets stuck on the initial loading screen. except for the first time I launched it with Proton GE. every time after that it does not load.
Works just fine. No audio problems
I have no isuses on Endevor OS.
On linux Mint I did have audio problems that were fixed by switching audio devices to something else then back to the one I was using. That is one of the reasons I swapped Distros, Mint does not handle audio well.
