This review is for docked to TV
Game is short, simple to play, bit a challenge, but overall fun, best of all, it's free to download and play. I played this game docked, set the launch options in the Steam settings to 4K so to match my TV and had no problems. Game locking at a solid 60 frames throughout.
Installs & runs great out the box as it has native Linux support. I did not come across any issues.
Full online playablity without any issues.
[BETA REVIEW] Game runs great out-the-box. Settings were all set to high and held a sold 50-60 fps but was very GPU heavy with an hour or so of gameplay on battery. Did not try on lower settings. There wasn't any problems with reading text & there is full controller support.
Works great on the Steam Deck. A few energy saving tweaks and you can get a lot of gaming out it.
Capped to 60 FPS. I was able to get the TDP down 4 before noticing any drop in frames.
Note: the game's speed is tied to the frame rate, so dropping down the 30 FPS will half the games overall performance and speed.
Just be careful with the amount of mods added to the game, this can increase power draw and harm the game's performance. Adding a few shouldn't be an issue though.
- Note: This review is for the UnderMine 2 Demo that was released for the Next Fest before general release of Early Access. The game is still under development and could change at any time. Information is correct at time of posting.
The game runs OK out of the box. I played the game docked to the TV. It defaults to 720p. The gamebruns on hot around 80-90% on the GPU at 60 frames, dropping at times when there are many enemies on screen. I turned off 'Dynamic Lighting' & 'Reflections', locked the FPS to 30 and didn't have any problems. I suspect that this might improve as development goes on but at the moment is on the edge of the Steam Deck's limits. Overall not too bad.
