tModLoader
Mod browser works in proton. Keybinding works properly. Crashes with too many mods despite the same mods working in native.
Customizations:
tModLoader (TML) is an addon for Terraria. Running in proton as is will lead to crashing and I believe this is caused by TML's prefix being unable to find Terraria. I solved this by doing the following:
- Have both Terraria and TML running the same proton version (I used experimental in this case).
- Enter TML's prefix and remove the pfx folder.
- Create a new pfx folder and link it to the pfx folder in Terraria's prefix.
- Run tModLoader.
- Optionally you can choose to link "drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Terraria" within Terraria's prefix to "~/.local/Terraria"
Instability:Occasionally
The game crashes with too many mods installed (insufficient RAM error), despite the same amount of mods working when ran native. This was partially fixed by installing the 64bit patch: https://github.com/Dradonhunter11/tModLoader64bit
