Worked well previously, but does not currently launch

I can only assume an update broke it, but it just immediately closes. I have tried different versions of Proton and Proton-GE, but no luck getting its behavior to change. The only change on my end after the last time I played this game was a GPU upgrade.

Coming back to the game after a few months, it would not launch. I eventually fixed it by moving the prefix folder under steamapps/compatdata/1245620
After leaving the game in map mode for a couple of minutes, I returned to find that the world had stopped rendering, so everything was black except for the smartphone interface and the map screen. This required restarting the game.
It wouldn't launch with the latest version of Proton, so I ran GloriousEggroll 7-10 and it ran without issues.
Similar to what natefrog said, the game would play English voice lines for certain types of voice barks instead of the Japanese dialogue that it was set to. This was mostly a non-issue. The second time I launched the game, this issue ceased, so it's likely a caching issue of sorts.
Works well after running "protontricks 1113000 wmp9 quartz devenum" and setting $WINEARCH to "win32". If you don't set the architecture to win32 then it's very laggy, but runs very smooth once you do that. I have yet to encounter any bugs or crashes.

Alt+tabbing would sometimes make UI elements unresponsive until I alt+tab and go back in. Not tested since I switched to Proton Hotfix.
Switch to Proton Hotfix. Before that, game was susceptible to spontanous crashes that would occur every while.
Ran it with --skip-intro in the launch options. It immediately closes and does not even show a window or any sign of function.
Works without any observable issues after fixing initial problems.
I can alt+tab, but it captures my mouse, preventing use.
Using GloriousEggroll, I was able to start the game, but it would freeze indefinitely in attempting to show the opening cutscene. I tried installing mf-install media, but this did not work. I bypassed this issue by replacing the opening scene with the one from Yakuza 3. Assuming you own it, this can be done by replacing files located at data/mvuen/advertise.usm in each game's folders.
