Use proton experiemental to fix crash. Set launch options to bypass (mostly useless) Paradox Launcher
eval $( echo gamemoderun "%command%" | sed "s/launcher-se\/Paradox Launcher.exe'.*/AOW4.exe'/")
eval $( echo gamemoderun "%command%" | sed "s/launcher-se\/Paradox Launcher.exe'.*/AOW4.exe'/")
Use the launch options to bypass the Paradox Launcher. It's only useful when using mods to select the loading order or disable some mods, etc.
Works great. I recommend using the Windows version with proton. The native build did not work for me.
Works well out of the box with Proton 8.0-3 in both DX11 or Vulkan mode
I've only played the beginning of the game but did not encounter any issue so far.
I had to switch my entire system to the en_US keyboard layout as the in-game control configuration option are inadequate and do not properly allow you to remap some keys.
Slight performance issues at Ultra graphics but perfectly playable at High
Works great!
- Launch the game once, you'll get a black screen
- Force close it
- Go to game folder: Manage > Browes loca files
- Edit the "options.ini" file and set: ''Driver = DirectX"
The game sometimes freezes and then resumes normally
Works great
Make sure to have the Steam Input udev rules installed for controller support.
I had to use Proton 7.0-6 to get my Xbox controllers to work. When the game launches, it might not detect the controllers right away. unplugging and plugging them back again usually fixes things.
It used to work as-is, without any tinkering, but it is no longer the case.
Minor in-game graphical tweaks needed. Otherwise works great with proton.
The terrain in battles with translucent until I disabled a specific graphical option (will update once I've found it again). Otherwise looks great.
There are also some minor artifacts on the menu screen. Those do not impact the game.
