Works out of the box with my arcade stick, only some minor problems
I have to switch fullscreen -> borderless fullscreen -> fullscreen, every time i start the game to get the right scaling, while having multiple displays connected. On my secondary screen i dont have this problem.
fullscreen is broken on native, cant get the game running on my primary display when a second display is connected. no problems when using proton
you can use the native version just fine but if you have any problems in fullscreen while using multiple displays just force proton
All the bugs I initially encountered were fixed after an update.
DX12 is unstable and slow for me, just use default DX11. The game has a a lot of shader compilation stuttering during the first minutes of gameplay, even some when using shader pre-caching. My "fix" is to go to the practice range and load every hero once while waiting for the matchmaking.
My experience was more stable and smoother with GE-Proton. Normal Proton runs fine too, but aiming for a high framerate in my CPU limited scenario was easier on GE-Proton.
Works out of the box with my controller 10/10
Feels like its native! The workshop and online are working great too :) For a really clean retro look, I recommend using these settings: aspect ratio 4:3, ARCADE draw distance, INTEGER scaling, DEFAULT 1x resolution, bilinear filtering OFF, crt scanlines ON, crt warp PROMINENT, cromatic aberation STRONG. (*set the draw distance to PC PORT if you see glitches in some workshop maps)
The game is a mixed bag sometimes the native version just works fine but then there is an update and the game breaks.
not every menu is usable with a controller
when i load a level i need to enter the pause menu before moving, or the game just crashes :/ this bug was added with the 27.june update...
multiple play-throughs, no issues
Great experience with a controller too. You just have to lower the vertical sensitivity a little bit and rebind the jump button to "RB". Have fun :)
Works fine and i was able to get 100%, only some minor problems
Steam cloud didnt work when i reinstalled the game :/ Not that bad since i already got 100%.
When using vsync the frametimes are a bit wonky and the camera movement is a little bit jerky >.< I got the best results by using no vsync with a 60- or 120fps cap in the game settings on my vrr display. (75 and 144 were wonky too) Otherwise the performance is great.
Played through the entire campaign, no problems
Controller and the vibration works fine. Game crashes sometimes or refuses to start when using mangohud
