Alt-Tab crashes game
Did not start out of the box for me. Switching to ProtonGE and forcing OpenGL fixed it. Not tried with steering wheel on my other system yet, but on my gaming notebook, it actually works smoother than on Windows.

Works great without any excessive tinkering, switching to GE just for convenience. Have not had a single issue on my laptop.
