Works perfectly out of the box
Mouse sensitivity was very high, couldn't remedy
Set right trackpad to perform common functions, and my back buttons for gear changes and as bumper alternatives.
Hosted a server on the steam deck, zero issues playing.
No complaints; runs as expected
Text can be small on the deck's screen
Occasionally crashed in desktop mode, required a forced shutdown of the device.
ScriptHookVDotNet doesn't work at all; severely limits modding possibilities
Plays normally with mouse+KB. MSCEditor and the modloader have to be run with specific environment variables set, if you wish to use them.
Played with a M+KB plugged in
Plays as I would expect. 50-60 FPS, no major issues.
Requires a lengthy workaround that I had to repeat at one point, and still suffers from instability.
'protontricks 244850 --force dotnet48 faudio' on proton 5.0-10, then run the game once, change proton to 6.3-7, play as normal
On one occasion my taskbar wouldn't hide behind the game window, mostly fine.
On one occasion, I was stuck loading a save indefinitely. Restarting the game fixed this issue.
CTD without error after 5-15 minutes in-game. I've set voxel quality to "Low", and it seems to have improved, although it did freeze at one point.
The video at the start of the game is just a black screen.
'protontricks 244850 --force dotnet48 faudio' on proton 5.0-10, then relaunched with latest proton
Here's the full solution to fixing the dotnet issue, as well as the random crashes that plague proton SE.
Install protontricks and run it as I specified earlier in the post, then download and run this: https://github.com/Linux74656/SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches
After running that jar, you'll need to open the terminal and use the following command:
'sudo iptables -A INPUT -s 88.146.207.227 -j DROP'
This will stop the game reporting to Keen's analytics servers, which crashes the game. I've been playing for over an hour now without any crashes or unusual behavior
Works perfectly ootb
KB+M layout, tons of changed bindings for my specific use-case
Locked 40FPS, medium-low settings
