works perfect out of the box
would be nice to be able to choose which monitor to play on but that doensn't have anything to do with proton

posting so somebody else doesn't have to spend 2 days figuring it out. gog screen would come up but nothing would happen when trying to play the game. you have to set your wine to report as windows 10, not windows 7. you can do this with protontricks or winetricks in the correct context. after that, runs great on proton-experimental (fixes some audio problems)
