It's a good idea to wait a few seconds after loading a level to let the texture streaming finish. It may be better on an SSD or NVMe drive - I have BL3 on a HDD.
Borderlands 3 likes memory. Lots of memory. Most games are happy in under 8Gb - but BL3 likes to have more (and I have 16Gb total). Shutting down Firefox and my Valheim server before playing was required to get stable play. If you are experiencing crashes, check 'journalctl -xe' after the game crashes to see if the Out of Memory Killer was responsible.
On my Geforce 1060, the game runs flawlessly in High graphics mode.
My PS4 Dualshock controller definitely was detected by the game - selecting on the menu worked - but the controls for the car were not functional. Playing on the keyboard worked fine.
I have played through seven levels of the first campaign. Everything seems to be fully functional, the sound is clean, crisp and has no jumps or gaps. Graphics are fully maxed out and run fluidly.
I have had one crash of the game in 3 hours of play.
