Other than the movie cutscene crashes, the game runs well.

Windowing:Other

Fullscreen works fine. Windowed mode has white bars around the edges, even when forcing fullscreen in my window manager.

Instability:Occasionally

Sometimes the game crashes right after video cutscenes (like the transformation sequences). This doesn't always happen and restarting the game and replaying up until the crash worked fine for me.

I've read on forums that this might be fixed by switching to windowed mode, which I don't want to do because that sticks white bars around the edges of the screen. I think that in both the instances that the game did not crash after it played a video cutscene I alt-tabbed out to switch to a browser window on my other screen, so maybe that could help?

Windowing:Other

Setting the game to 720p fullscreen stretches the game vertically. Run the game in windowed mode to avoid issues.

Instability:Occasionally

Occasionally crashes after playing video cutscenes. This only happens every once in a while, and after the first chapter there are very few video cutscenes in the game. I'd recommend saving at every occasion you can in the beginning of the game so you don't have to replay too much.

The game sadly doesn't have Steam Cloud support but syncing the saves between PC and Steam Deck with Syncthing works just as well!

I'm using the Syncthing Decky plugin and I set it to sync compatdata/658260/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/KoeiTecmo/BLUE REFLECTION/SAVEDATA

Tinker Steps:Switch to older version: 8.0-1

By default the game launched but none of the movies would play. Had to select "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and select Proton 8.0-3 to get the movies working, and after that I had no problems.

Audio:Missing

Sound effects other than music and voices did not play when launching the game. Fixed by unpacking the N - Sounds.bsa file.

Install wine and winetricks

Create a temporary wine32 prefix:

mkdir -p /tmp/pfx # Or whatever path you want
WINEPREFIX=/tmp/pfx wine wineboot

Install dotnet48

WINEPREFIX=/tmp/pfx winetricks dotnet48

Download BSA Browser from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1756 (choose the 7z archive)
cd into the Data directory in your Nehrim installation directory and run bsab.exe on N - Sounds.bsa

cd path/to/nehrim/installation/Data
WINEPREFIX=/tmp/pfx wine path/to/bsab.exe -i -e: "N - Sounds.bsa" .
```
You may need to run this multiple times, sometimes some of the files fail to unpack.
Delete the wine prefix if you want.

Installing dotnet48does NOT work on a Proton prefix because protontricks expects a 32-bit wine prefix.

I installed the GOG version using Steam so YMMV on the Steam version.

I would recommend making your own custom layout or using a community-made one, the default controller layout is terrible.

The native Linux version doesn't support resolutions higher than 720p and has issues with the key and controller mapping. Switch to the Windows version on Proton.
