The game works flawlessly when launched via Steam in Desktop mode. Also, Steam does not seem to honor custom controller configurations in desktop mode. A workaround is to change the desktop controller configuration to your HROT config, via 'Steam - Settings - Controller - Desktop Configuration'. It's inconvinient, but it works.
