Got the "Failed to initialize graphics, make sure you have direct x11 installed" popup.
Ran: DXVK_HUD=full wine Cuphead.exe from the cuphead directory and got this:
"0104:fixme:d3d:wined3d_guess_card No card selector available for card vendor 0000 (using GL_RENDERER "llvmpipe"
The only fix for me to get it to work with proton was to install the lib32-nvidia-utils package. Others may need to fix/install additional driver components if they get the above error.
After installing the above package, Cuphead as well as other previously non-functional proton games worked flawlessly.
Weird box artifact that follows the cursor at larger resolutions in fullscreen or borderless. This can be temporarily fixed by setting scaling to 1x, set to windowed mode, then set borderless. This has to be done everytime the game is launched.
