Copy the CD key when your rist run the game, then paste it to the box when requested
Great horror survival game. The loading pauses and occasional bitmap application delay do not affect the enjoyment of playing the game.
Most of the small text notes have the option to be read by the actors out loud. Most of the text you can also pull up later and it displays as regular text. A few areas I used the magnefy key combo on the Steam Deck
Transition to some cutscenes gives low-res effect for a second or so before going to normal high-res. A few times when entering a new area the walls are missing their high-res features for a moment before all the bitmaps are applied to them.
Load between areas can pause a second or so at times. Loading before some cutscenes, or at the end of cutscenes can take 2-3 seconds. Luckily no slow down, stuttering or pausing during game play.
Can use Steam + L1 to read things that are too small. Usually you can read without this, but it can be a challenge at times
Funny way to test (and learn) your Steam Deck and it's controlls. Great to play a tongue-in-cheek prequil to the Portal series
Running in one area Elizabeth's dress was partially missing, and no leg was underneath where the dress was missing. Only happened once in one location
Plays well on Steam Deck. FPS was 67-90 during the game which is much better than expected.
It took 2 tries to log into the Microsoft/X Box screen (the first time I got no place to type my user name)
Do not let it pick the low graphics settings (which is what it wants the first time you play it). Instead click the "profile my computer" button and let it go through it's thing to determine the best settings. Then let it restart the game and it plays quite well
I wish the controlls were like the original Half-Life. Hard to select the weapon I want at times in a fight using joy stick or mouse pad.
You may have to tap "Play" button to start. You get the option to select screen resolution when you start.
I could not get past the informational section without switching to Proton Experimental
Uses NES versions of the classic arcade games, which was not clear in the description of the game. Lots of games for the money
To play the DirectX 11 in full screen you must use the setup DirectX utility at launch. The default is windowed, but you can set DirectX 11 to play full screen, and increase the default resolution to something like 1280 or 1920.
The DirectX setup utility is a bit wonky (just like on a PC) and will often crash after setting a new resolution. 2 of 3 times it successfully does set the resolution (if not just try again).
Once set, just launch the DirectX 11 version of Pinball Arcade. The other version of Pinball Arcade also works but is uses DirectX 9 and isn't as detailed with shading, shadows, etc.
