--skip-launcher
Ran into some issues with XFCE's window manager's hotkeys due to them being activated by the alt key, and needing to press the alt key in the game to view item names. This occurred in both borderless and regular fullscreen. These are expected behaviors, just not ones I found desireable:
- Alt + Scroll zooms the desktop.
- Alt + click is used to drag windows, which resulted in me being unable to press alt and click an item to interact with it. Disabling these actions in XFCE worked fine for me since I don't use those features. Could probably also remap alt in the game.
Used --skip-launcher to avoid logging into Larian launcher. Would probably work fine if you logged in there but I didn't test it.
Had to follow guide here https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3106#issuecomment-1560690048, specifically about d3dcompiler_47.dll, to get the game to launch. After that game worked fine.
When alt-tabbing out, mouse cursor stayed active in game. I could shift-tab before alt-tabbing to prevent the cursor from interacting with the game itself, but it could still click things in the steam overlay.
Worked out of the box with no issues.
Played in a lobby I was hosting with friends, experienced no issues.
Worked out of box without any noticeable issues after installing Easy Anticheat runtime from Steam library.
Installed Proton EasyAnticheat Runtime
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libtcmalloc.so %command%
If moving from Windows, mouse sensitivity will be different (roughly double with raw input enabled) at the same values. Removing libSDL2-2.0.so.0 from .../Team Fortress 2/bin corrects this issue and makes the sensivitiy behave as in the WIndows version.
Game wouldn't launch without specifing LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libtcmalloc.so %command% in launch options. This file needs to be installed before it can be used.
Loading times seem somewhat longer than on Windows.
Upcoming 64bit update to Team Fortess will likely change the situation.
New 64 bit client resolved several issues. Some issues with previously working community modifications.

With MasterComfig installed, experienced desktop crashes on game launch, but only occasionally. Experienced no issues after switching to an autoexec-based FPS config.
Experienced some issues with queuing for casual games and disconnecting from game coordinator. These same issues could also be occurring for Windows users, I'm not certain on that.

Occasional desktop crashes on game launch. I haven't experienced any crashes once in game, however. This can occur a few times in a row even which can definitely be annoying. Previously I thought I had fixed the issue by removing my FPSconfig (mastercomfig) and switching to a different one, but the instability has returned today without mastercomfig installed.
Sometimes have issues connecting to game coordinator, queuing for casual games, as well as aforementioned desktop enviroment crashes.
Worked without issues with Native client
If moving from Windows, Terraria doesn't automatically save characters and worlds to Steam Cloud. This is expected behavior, but you have to either check the "save to cloud" option on each character or world, or move your save files manually.
Played with a friend hosting a world, used Steam to connect. Worked without issue.
