I would say we've joined the dark side, but that would mean every one of us Linux users is now dead. Good game by the way.
Computer was heating more than it should for that game, may be original game issue and not Proton's
Played game for several hours and not found any bugs at all
Enabling Half Rate Shading causes certain in-game objects such as railings to artifact by glowing solid white. This can still happen for a fraction of a second with HRS disabled, but it's not too noticable.
Note: I ran this game at 1280x720 since it provides a wider field of view and fewer pixels to render. Runs great on the Steam Deck out of the box with default Proton version. The opening part of the game ran around 35-40 on low and high settings. I think that was due to shader caching. I'll have to play it again later to test that hypothesis.

Finished game without issues
Mouse movement is locked to 50fps due to some unity thing. So even if game is running at 144fps, mouse movement feels choppy. This is a game engine thing and not proton specific.
Works perfectly out of box.
Pretty much perfect.
Very rare crashes when changing some of the settings. Not a big problem.
It works just as great as in Windows.
Was able to play through full game. Crashed once, but everything else worked flawlessly.
Game crashed once. Restarted and it continued fine.
Full play-through with mouse and keyboard
Two crashes in about four hours, but autosaves are frequent so it's a small issue.
Works perfectly Fine.
Launch screen occasionally loses hero image but the "play" button is always fine
Ran in 4k with good frame rates and no issues and no side effects

After clicking the play button nothing happens
I also tried https://www.protondb.com/app/994140#YD_0d1iHy, but that also didn't work

Upgraded from demo to full game now, works like a charm
The launcher is mostly just a black window, but the big blue "Play" button is clearly visible and works.

Runs excellent!
No extra setup required whatsoever.

The game wasn't starting after I clicked 'Play' in the launcher. I made the changes posted by cinteros and got the game working. It seemed fine, smooth and stable, for the 30 minutes I had free.
Demo plays perfectly out of the box
Fix from cintoros. Sometimes, there is not any visual output after launching game from launcher (window with big blue 'Play' button). Process hangs in memory. Steam marks game as 'running'. Skip the launcher by:
- Renaming the LightmatterSub.exe to Lightmatter.exe
- Creating a link from LightmatterSub_Data to Lightmatter_Data:
"ln -s LightmatterSub_Data Lightmatter_Data" from root directory of game

My potato laptop is pretty old. Minimal settings were satisfactory for me. FPS drops on switching between levels/rooms. New computers with fast SSD should not encounter any performance problems.

Note: also tried various other teaks like virtual desktop but none of them worked.
Played through the whole game with no issues expect the launcher.
I tested it on demo only. Problem: No visual output after launching game from initial menu (window with big blue 'Play' button). Process hangs in memory. Steam marks game as 'running'. Used fix: Setup usage of virtual desktop in winecfg.
Sometime actual game launches as expected, sometime it does not. Usage of virtual desktop fixed problem for me.

Game installs, runs and loads fine. No issues at any point during the 1 hour demo
Had some minor stutters from now to then but nothing special.
Played through the free part of the game. Oh and missing vsync gave my eye cancer...
