Emulate Games for Windows Live with Xliveless from pcgamingwiki
Played with Proton 9.0-4 and Xliveless from pcgamingwiki.

Removed Games for Windows Live with Xliveless from pcgamingwiki
I installed the GOG version using the herioc game launcher and added it as a non-steam game.
Max setting, 60 fps lock, 6 watts

Just get on the game's page on PCGamingWiki.com, download "xlive.dll" and put it in the game's folder to disable Live, it will then work perfectly.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8=n,b' %command%
Installed the xlive.dll, 16:9 FOV Fix and ThirteenAG's Universal ASI Loader all from the pcgamingwiki page and worked flawlessly
Used the default proton version 8.0-4 and the game works better than on windows, I remember suffering alot on this game back in the day but on proton it's a great experience (the game it's not that good but at least there isn't any graphical problem so far).

In order to play without Games for Windows - LIVE you'll need xlive.dll. I got it from PCGamingWiki
Crashed once when I loaded into the last mission

After pasting in the xlive.dll, I have played through the whole game on the Steam Deck just fine!
xlive.dll from PCGamingWiki.com
Paste xlive.dll to root game folder for disabling LIVE. https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases/download/Win32-latest/xlive.zip
Would not start got a black screen tried :changing win verson with protontricks :verifying files reinstalling
Using xliveless.dll & 21:9 widescreenfix https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/2300-kane-and-lynch-219-fix/
No issues. Ran flawlessly.
Broken

doesn't work on any proton version ;(
protontricks 8080 d3dx9_31 d3dx9_34 gfw
Played with Proton 6.3-8 and command PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
At first start choose item 'Install GFWL manual' and then run 'protontricks 8080 d3dx9_31 d3dx9_34 gfw'
used Proton 5.13-6 Launch options: DXVK_HUD=fps,gpuload,compiler PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_OLD_GL_STRING=1 WINEARCH=win32 %command%

Other than bad performance, no issues.
Framerate dips down to 20s sometimes. I don't know if it's because of Wine or just a crappy port.
Crashed once near the start.
Select the "install GFWL manually" option first time you run the game. Make sure you run this on a fresh wineprefix (delete the "8080" prefix).

Installed d3dx9_31 through protontricks Used xlive.dll from XLiveLess v0.999b7 found on internet Able to get stable 60 fps with vsync enabled

Able to execute up to game's loading status bar.
Using Proton 4.11-13 and following brutalv4's setup. I was able to get a fullscreen change plus the game's status bar on bottom to load a 1/4 of way with the "Loading" text. But crashes afterward.

Will not start.
Tried Proton 5.0-7 down through 4.11. Only error from logs, is xlive.dll error.

Game not start
Tested with Proton 5.0-7, 4.11-13, 4.2-9
Crash with error - err:module:import_dll Library xlive.dll (which is needed by Kane and Lynch Dead Men\kaneandlynch.exe") not found
Tried various proton commands posted here, but game doesn't start

game doesn't start
tried this set of commands: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_LOG=1 PROTON_OLD_GL_STRING=1 WINEARCH=win32 %command%
also this one: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%
it just won't start
- Start the game once for proton to set up the WINEPREFIX
- Open up a terminal and run command: protontricks 8080 --gui (considering that protontricks is installed)
- Click "OK" on the warning about a 64-bit WINEPREFIX
- Check "Enable silent install" and press "OK"
- Stay on "Select the default wineprefix" and press "OK"
- Check "Install a Windows DLL or component" and press "OK"
- Check "gfw", "d3dx9_31", "d3dx9_34", press "OK" and wait for the operation to finish
- Press "OK", "Cancel" to exit from protontricks and close the terminal
- Set the following lauch command: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%
- Play the game!
Tried Disable Esync, Disable D3d10, Large Address Aware and Use Wine D3d11. Game Does not start.

The game itself works great. The used command is: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%

Theres a problem with wine64 or some sort of path wrong set, dont know exactly but works with these launch options:
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_LOG=1 PROTON_OLD_GL_STRING=1 WINEARCH=win32 %command%
What does not? Havent played longer than 5 minutes, because i couldnt get the xbox controller running with this (but only with this) game.
