MANGOHUD_CONFIG="fps_limit=144,no_display" mangohud %command%
without liming FPS the game can run into engine issues
Works fine singleplayer. Not sure about multiplayer as I noticed GameSpy

As Löwen said it is an OOT experience and should be a platinum.

Should be at Platinum, honestly. The game works without any issues whatsoever.

Game doesn't start.
Open Bin/config.ini and set Cfg.RenderDevice to 1. To set it for DX9
Tried several proton versions with no luck. Launching first time there was some HDD activity, but after that it looks game not even trying to start.
Проходится идеально

Game was made with mouse and keyboard in mind, so joysticks are very sensitive
Seems to be running V Sync with no options within the game menus

If you face messages regarding missing Lua scripts, it's due to Steam starting the game in its base directory, whereas the code expects to start in the Bin directory. In order to solve this, insert the following in the game's launch options:
cd "/home/username/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/NecroVisioN - Demo/Bin"; %COMMAND%

Lua scripts missing
Upon launching the game, a series of Wine/MS Windows style dialogue boxes appear, each reporting a missing Lua script, one after the other when dismissed:
File not found: ../Data/LScripts/Main/Tweak.lua
File not found: ../Data/LScripts/Main/Cfg.lua
File not found: ../Data/LScripts/Main/Definitions.lua
File not found: ../Data/LScripts/Main/Loader.lua
After the last of which is dismissed, another MS Windows dialogbox with the message: [string "Cfg:Load()"]:1: attempt to index global 'Cfg' (a nil value)
Then the game exists, and Steam switches the view to the game's store page!
As other comments mentioned, I had to set directX manually to 9.0, in the config.ini file.
On my PC it runs with 250+ fps and there is no option to lock the fps.
But i found this steam post and it worked for me to cap fps to 60: https://steamcommunity.com/app/7860/discussions/0/412448792346104895/
open the console with the tilde key
setmaxfps 60 (or whatever value works for you)

Had to change to directx9 like others have mentioned
There are few non-linux issue. One is on game load screen can be black. Need to enter the adrenaline mode by pressing left-alt and that solves it.
Just change render device in necrovision ini file to 1
Open Bin/config.ini and set Cfg.RenderDevice to 1. To set it for DX9
Default is DX10 - broken. Mod config.ini for DX9. No crash on Chapter 2 for me.
Not supported DX10.
Crashes on starting second chapter with "Not Enough Memory" error.
Open Bin/config.ini
and set Cfg.RenderDevice
to 1
.
I guess this game engine is not supposed to play more than 60 FPS.
DX10 is broken. Force the game to DX9 like I described above and it will work.
NecroVisioN does not have an option in-game to disable DirectX 10 mode, and defaults to DirectX 10 mode. To use the DirectX 9c renderer instead of DirectX 10, you must open Bin/config.ini
inside the game's install location and set Cfg.RenderDevice
to 1
instead of 2
.

not start

Does not start

Got message that directx10 renderer can't be initialized (game runs fine with Wine-3.0)

Launches to a black screen but crashes
