Starts well (singleplay)
Played with Proton 9.0-4.

The game works properly once loaded, but takes too long to load (even more than 5 minutes sometimes).
Audio is sometimes missing in loading screens
The game takes several minutes to start up
I have tried several versions of proton, including GE, and have had no success. Even using specific commands did not improve the situation. The logs are full of messages “fixme:file:server_query_directory_file Unsupported info_class 3.”

Flawless out of the box! Fantastic game and it runs on Linux with Proton!
Great to see more and more support for Linux from games. I don´t even have a Windows system anymore, all Linux now

Funciona perfecto a 120 fps a 1440p todo en muy alto exepto el brillo de los vehiculos que esta en alto, no se si es normal pero si lo pongo en muy alto me bajan a 55fps.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%

gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Starts up and runs perfectly. Ran on big picture mode 3440x1440p ultrawide resolution @144Hz no problem. Dualsense controller working fine. Using Wayland
If you don't mind the occasional hard crash and a little visual weirdness, everything else is fine.
Square artifacts around the edges of characters. Doesn't affect racing at all though. There is also some ghosting on some things, including your own car, so you see very faint afterimages of yourself as you drive.
With my specs, I see absolutely no reason for this game to struggle to reach 120 fps, but it does. Even on less than max settings. Many tracks only manage 110-115, and some tracks drop as low as 90 in certain sections.
With most settings on high/medium the game runs great at 60 FPS. No crashes so far. I'd suggest playing at 40-45 FPS if battery life is a concern for you as the stock settings will quickly drain your battery.
gamemoderun gamescope -W 3440 -H 1440 %command%
Worked, including voice chat.
__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia %command%
Game works perfectly. Game not need any additional configuration. I ran game with unmodified Proton's 7.0-3 version. I got exactly same performance compared to Windows. Only applied NVIDIA Prime Render Offload for using NVIDIA GPU on Optimus/MUXless systems as shown "Enviromental Variables" section.
Momentary framerate drops during gameplay.
Wan't able to run the game on Ubuntu, but works out of the box on Manjaro.
Game runs out of the box, haven't tried it without custom proton yet. This appears to work better on pascal cards than F1 2021 because 2018 uses DX11 not DX12.
Game won't start with any Proton version
Works good (sigleplayer tested)
Played with Proton 6.3-8
The game runs out-of-the-box.
Alt-tabbing makes the game drop to 20fps so avoid doing it. Dualshock 4 controller worked OOTB the only issue I had was that it displayed Xbox controller layout instead but overall It performed excellent.
The game works quickly in the menu, but when the 3D scene is loaded, there are wild brakes. 100% GPU load and 90% PCI bus load, and 5-10 frames. When on Windows 30+ fps in 3D scene are stable. Perhaps 1 GB of VRAM is not enough and the game puts the rest in RAM and a 3D scene works with swapping from RAM and because of this low FPS, maybe 2 GB does better.
No problem.
Performance comparable with windows.
Triggers did not work correctly. Fixed by enabling Steam Input in game properties.
Works excellently
G29 wheel with force feedback works with no issues. Minor graphical artifacts off-track.
Alt-Tab really slows the game down. Don't do it.
No problems. The game worked as expected.

Proton 6.3-3 no problem exept alt-tab, same perf than windows, i have not tested multiplayer
after alt-tab, fps went down to +- 30fps, needed to restart the game
Perfect with Proton-6.5-GE-2 Hangs with all official proton versions I have tested
Worked out of the box. Had to change resolution on first launch, for some reason it was at lowest resolution.
Black screen
After launch game's window displayed as black area, not responding, cannot change active window. Closed with Alt+F4 repeated a few times and Force Quit selected.
Bluetooth controller had a lot of input lag
System started to slow down a bit
Works quite well. Didn't play long as I also own F1 2019

Almost Ultra High: 40-50 FPS with frequent 30 FPS drops
strange textures around pilots in cut scenes
slow to load
DefaultLimitNOFILE=524288.
Ultra High with Texture Steaming set to High.
GPU load: 100% vidmem: 3300 MB sysmem: 1500 MB

Didn't work on LMDE, but it works after switching to Manjaro.
My controller wasn't detected until I restarted the game.
Works pefectly but alas, not the Logitech G28 steering wheel.
Logitech g29 vibration doesn't work well.
Runs better with MESA than AMDVLK, but no problems on both
Works great but watch out with your controller's vibrations settings.
Artifacts only present in the cut-scenes during Career Mode (in the pits and data center).
Vibrations with a Xbox One Controller makes the game crash when pausing during a race. Also, the vibrations are constant and thus do not correspond to what you see on the screen. DISABLE THEM.

Works fine, minor graphic artifacts in cutscenes
In the opening graphics of races (such as bits of the pit crew)
Works well
Works perfectly out of the box

Playes with Proton 4.11-13 and command params PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
With Proton 5.0-9 there is no car textures, 4.11-13 has no problems.
