Works out of the box
Roughly half-way through the game there's a video that only showed a test pattern with Proton 7.0-4. Everything worked fine with GE-Proton7-41.
Played the game from start to finish across a few sessions with no issues. The memories played out of the box, no messing with media dlls.

Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 На інших версіях Proton на показувались спогади (катсцени), був просто білий екран. На цьому все працює.

Proton-6.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
6.1-GE-2 https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
Without GloriousEggroll memories will not work
Using the normal proton builds will have the game running fine, but memories will not work so you might have a lack of understanding for what's going on story wise, however once you install gloriouseggroll (I used 6.1-GE-2, since another user said this version worked) and the memories did work so definitely use gloriouseggroll for this game.
Wonderful game, but without the memories you're missing out on the all of the emotional impact.
The memories display nothing but a white screen, which is very disappointing. That's half the beauty of the game!
Game runs but it's not worth playing without cutscenes
Cutscenes won't play, game needs the Media Foundation DLL but will crash to desktop if installed using the installation script.
The only way to play this game is to use Proton-GE, which include the Media Foundation patches.

Proton-6.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Install Proton-GE which now includes media foundation support: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Requires https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install to view memories

The game works fine except that every memory is a white screen

Videos do not play. Other than that game is fully playable to the end.

I finished the game without any tweaks. Only afterwards did I find out that I was missing the old man's memories during the cloud transitions.
The memories videos are in "~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Old Man's Journey/Old Mans Journey_Data/StreamingAssets/Video/" and can be viewed with a regular video player.

Game is beautiful and run fine with very good performances. And I can finish the game without major issue.
But, it seems there's a matter displaying the "memories" scene, where instead
of an animation, I get a completely white screen.
Apart from this, switching to the desktop make the game appear as a black screen with a small icon in top left of the screen, double click on it display the game back, but the mouse cursor display both the game one and system one, and there's no more possibility to interact with the game, even with the keyboard (esc kay to accessing setting for example).

The game works great with DXVK, but strangly there is a white screen during the firework scene.

Crashes at startup

did not start

Overall it works fine, but sadly when the old man has a memory I only see a white screen. The rest works, well it crashed one time but whatever.

Crashes after fireworks and from then on every time restarted, even when using WINED3D11

Use Launch Option: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% Game no longer goes black after fireworks scene. (Haven't compared to Windows version; seems to run fine so far.)

After the fireworks scene near the beginning of the story, the screen goes black and the music keeps playing. There was no way to exit the game except to force a logoff.

Works perfectly with the startup option "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%". The robot is missing on the display otherwise
