Native Support
Although this game has a Linux-native build available, Steam does not list it as having Linux support. This can happen if a game has an unofficial, unfinished, or unsupported build. You may need to force Steam to enable Proton for the game in order to run properly.

Works fine out of the box, you may need to kill the game on first startup as it seems to be stuck on the initial loading screen.
Was able to create a multiplayer server without any errors, though the player count for the game is dwindling so I was not able to gather enough players in a lobby. The online parts of the game are still functional.
Forcing the use of a specific Steam Play compatability tool didn't work for me, so if that also doesn't work for you just disable the setting and just click play to launch with the default Linux Runtime.
It runs. It takes a couple seconds to spin up but then it runs natively.
Run and plays in with the Steam Linux Runtime
When launching the game, it may get stuck when loading. Killing it and re-launching usually fixes this issue
First start was stuck in loading. I disabled Steam overlay for the game and it ran fine
The planet thing on the main screen flickers from time to time. Nothing big though

Gets stuck when closing, have to manually kill.
There's two issues:
- Initial start will hang at the loading screen. Just start it again!
- Rightclick on the game, click properties, Compabtiblity, "Force use of a pecific Steam Play compatibility tool"
- Select Proton Experimental
Then everything will work smoothly.
After the first loadup got me stuck in the loading screen I switched to some proton builds... Don't let you distract from small failures... Steam Linux Runtime(native) works fine. After the first start and getting stuck run it again without any changes. On second try it works. If you are worried about your other screens, don't bother. you can change this behavior in the settings (after second launch), this game supports multiple displays.

Can be played almost natively (with some minor issues) after forcing the proton version to 4.2-9
Take's a while to menu appear
Can't download briefing cases
Takes some time to menu appear and briefing can't download, everything else is good.

The game runs like it was made for Linux. Force Proton 4.2-9 if it doesn't run or use the Proton variable to induce directx.
Hacknet theme does not work as intended
It runs flawlessly, except for one in-game theme (a bug I presume) which doesn't draw properly. It's just an OS theme and doesn't affect gameplay, just don't use it, it's not turned on by default. I ran it on Debian 9.11.
The game runs very well, but you have to force game to run Steam Proton 4.2-9.
I had to force it to run Steam Proton 4.2-9 in order to reach main menu. Using 4.11-11 will cause the game to run an infinite loading screen rather than the main menu.
Steam says this game runs on Windows and Mac, not Linux. This game is not native, yet Protondb shows this game as native for some reason.

Stuck at Startup loading screen (After launcher)

I had to try with different proton versions but it works perfect now

No issues on any graphical settings, During login for the first time I had to reload the game twice because things were taking forever to load, but after that everything works just fine, launches and runs with no issues.

Need to set visual quality on startup to "Fantastic" - anything less will be unplayable due to fuzzy images being downloaded (This problem has been reported under Windows as well, not a Proton bug.)

Game actually does start! However, text appears unreadable. Please click on below link for screenshot.

Game starts ... however in game text is unreadable. Able to get past login screen.

Game will not load. It is still InDev, though, so no big surprise there.

Game doesn't move past initial loading screen.
