Does not function
The game does not function, it crashes to the desktop when you reach the main menu!

Can't skip cutscenes, game goes black.
when pressing enter on the 'options' selection from the main menu, nothing happens. I can click on everything else. If i press Esc, i get an overlay asking me if i want to skip the cutscene (yes, even on the main menu). If i press skip, the game jsut gets a black screen with audio and i cant' do anything. So i thought maybe i could get into the options once im in the game. So i loaded up my character but in-game i have no HUD, and can't seem to change my weapons. If i press Esc, i still get that pop up asking me if i want to skip a cutscene or not; even though there are no cutscenes playing. Same thing, if i press skip the screen jsut goes black thoguh i still get audio; but can't do anything at all. The game is broken and i'm not sure why.
The game is always online, if your internet drops the game will force you back to the main menu and potentially make you lose progress.
Optimal Steam Deck settings Game settings: Resolution - 1280x800. VSYNC - Invalid. Framerate - Auto. Motion Blur - . DOF - Valid. Model Detail - Extra High. Textures - Extra High. Texture filtering - Medium. Shadows - Medium. Lighting - High. Post Processing - Low. Effects - High. Ambient Occlusion - Off.
Deck settings: Default, I dropped refresh rate to 55hz just to keep fans a bit quieter. Map L3 to a back button as that controls both sprinting and engaging first person aim. Gyro is a no-go as you can't have simultaneous mouse and gamepad, having it behave "as joystick" is not pleasant.
MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=40,no_display mangohud %command%
Use the command "MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=40,no_display mangohud %command%" to cap the FPS to 40 without using the steam limiter since it adds tons of latency, also disable vsync in game, and cap the refresh rate to 40 in the deck limiter (only the refresh rate, leave the fps to unlimited) thank me later.
Online works great, which is a good thing since you can't play this game offline.
If you cap the game to 40 fps you can crank up every graphical settings to high without issue, otherwise leave them at default
No issues being one of the only few people in the world who find this game fun to play, and honestly have been mainly playing on my Deck.
Capped FPS at 30
There was a single instance of a cutscene refusing to load, showing a glitch of bars on the screen.
The game is online only (sadly), so it not working would just make the game unplayable.
It works very well on the Steam Deck, definitely a good way to play in short bursts as I do.
One of the obvious bugs in 6.3-6, the missing gas mask texture, has been resolved by using experimental, so overall it's even better.
The full motion videos don't seem to play. The start menu and cut scenes that rely on them either are auto skipped or a missing video placeholder is shown.
Given that most of the visual bugs are almost completely unnoticeable if you'd never played on Windows I'd say, yes.
The full motion videos are missing. The start menu shows a missing video background and the cut scenes that rely on a FMV don't play, the game just skips them, so if you'd never played on Windows you wouldn't even know that you were missing something, minus the game referring to stuff that it seems like it never told you.
When you enter the dust your character's gas mask texture is missing, so it looks like he's not wearing a gas mask. That's really the only noticeable outside of the FMVs.
Managed to get it working with Proton 5.13-6, no noticeable difference from playing natively on Windows.

Game enables voice chat by default, and then used a monitor of my audio out as its source, rebroadcasting all of my system audio over in game voice.
Initial Splash screen is missing the background video and instead shows an unclothed avatar. Distant features frequently flicker in certain lighting conditions.
If Konamis servers are not available the game won't let you play single player
It crashes with beta version of Steam Proton (which is usually the default)

Game now successfully connects to the servers, the only thing that's preventing me from giving it a platinum rating is a strange lighting flickering.
Actual online matches were not tested.

Game is unable to connect with Online servers, which are required in this game.

Connection error, infinity loop in entrance scene.
