I developed a bash script which automates the deployment of Ultrawide fix to combat black bars on the steam deck.
You can find it here.
If you are not familir with Linux there is a step-by-step Steam Guide. Fix requires an older 8.05 proton.
Overall, even without full screen, game is a perfect out of the box experience for SD.
Perfomance is great, game is designed to play with the standart gamepad layout.
Font is on a smaller side, but I personally have not experienced issues reading it.

Some small text in menus and gameplay but still legible
Ran with CryoUtilities tool active (recommended settings). Defaulted to medium settings in-game, changed AA to FXAA High.

Mostly Low, slight resolution downscaling, capped refresh to 50Hz.
Menu text can be a little small, if you use resolution scaling some stuff in the HUD can get difficult to see.
turned down cpu wattage and gpu clock speed to maintain 60fps but increase battery life
"Fatal error !
Game has crashed and will close."
- approx 2h without any modification
- approx 3h+ with modifications :
- limit fps to 30 (refresh 60)
- Half rate shading
- in-game settings (Full Screen, Motion blur OFF, etc...)
Really good on steam deck.
Was able to play the main campaign from start to finish with no issues. The only modification I did was bind Yaw to L4/R4 and Flare to R5. Did not run into any frame drops and game stayed at a healthy 60fps throughout. The battery life isnt the greatest clcoking in at about 2 hours which is to be expected.
Only 2 hard crashs (game completely frozen) in 18h of game play where it was necessary to "hard shutdown" the Steamdeck.
Litteraly EATS the battery using default settings. Around 1h of play with a fully loaded battery.

Thermal lock 8 watts
The resolution was locked at 720p no matter how I tried to set it at fullscreen at 800p. The game refuses to go to fullscreen but with black bars on top and bottom.
