CONTROLLER FIX: after pressing start and getting to the main menu, tap on options then tap pc settings and enable controller, tap back below the menu to save setings, youre all set when you see xbox prompts
tap to get around the menu even on the arrow to enable controller

I'd say if they had controllers working and sound that didn't give hearing loss it'd be golden
Really loud the second that you get into gameplay in the campaign

Controller support for Dead Rising 2 is broken on Windows as well, not a Proton issue. Fixed by:
- Using SC Controller with the Xbox controller default preset.
- Disabling Steam Input.
- Starting Dead Rising and enabling the controller in the PC settings section.
- Re-enabling Steam Input in game.
Everytime you wish to play with a controller you must disable Steam Input first, get to the main menu, then re-enable it.
Co-op works as expected, no issues. TiR however will crash at the end of the match, this however is not a proton issue as it happens to Windows players as well.
The DLC outfit that gives abilities are broken on Windows as it says the DLC is corrupted. On Proton, however, they work fine.
Set TDP limit to 8
No issues of any kind.

Works out of the box.
helped a friend from beggining to end without any issues.
Couldn't try TIR because there are not enough people, but I'm sure it works because a friend and I managed to get on a lobby.

Stuttering is fixed by using Proton Experimental
Runs mostly fine out of the box but I recommend using the 40hz 40fps mode to avoid ocasional drops which happen at higher framerates
40fps
Made no changes to the game, haven't really been paying attention to the battery usage, but I'm only an hour in. So far though, game plays absolutely fine, I've had no problems with any of it. Reminds me of playing it on the PS3 all those years ago!
I'll update this in future should there be any issues.
Minor crackling and some sounds play quieter than they should on all versions.
Stuttering shortly after load. Immense stuttering on later versions of Proton, with 6.3-8 crashing every time. Version 5.0-10 seems to work fine, although apparently earlier versions work better.
remapped l4 as pushing right stick in. for easier dodge rolling.
when resuming the deck from sleep it runs likie a chipmunk on speed. adds a lot of distortion. otherwise its fine
3 hours and 30-45m, roughly the same as dead rising 1. 60 fps 800p and smooth as possible
Works well
A pair of stutters when compiling shaders, but it is done quite quickly.
If you can get past the weird preformance issues, you can very well complete the entire game.
Using my keyboard's volume slider wheel (i use the G815) it caused the game to freeze for a few seconds during a cutscene. The mouse movement was also a bit inconsistient.
The game lagged and stuttered from time to time on low, but nothing insanely broken, was nearly unplayable on the recommended graphics (roughly medium-high).
on proton 5.13-6 all is well
it might work for some... but i was not able to play
as soon as i get to move the motorcycle the entire game becomes ear cancer
trying to get past the opening motorcycle scene (on mute) crashes when the next cutscene begins
Runs just as well as it does on Windows, no problems at all.
The game runs great, more out of the box than the first one and without messing with settings.
The game does not have a windowed mode, using a virtual desktop made the game not accept a controller, but I believe that's not really fault of how the game runs on proton but how wine treats the virtual desktop.
some crackling but nothing major.
Minor frame drops at max settings.
Fire particles are weird
Multiplayer works fine: Both players invite each other, while on each other's invite screen only one player accepts it while the other stays on the invite screen, after a few seconds you should get the invite prompt of a joining player
Turning Zombie graphic settings to low solved most of the stuttering issues other than that no problems
Took a few tries and a restart of steam to get it to just "run" but other than that it ran fine, no mouse issues, no audio issues, stuttering was mainly due to Zombie graphical settings
Playable
stutters when there are too many zombies.
TO PLAY ON LINUX
- Only Launches and will be stuck at intro screen
- Proton Version I use for testing Proton 4.11-7,Proton 4.11-8,Proton 4.11-9
- Modified Proton Version I use for testing Proton 4.15 GE-4
- Proton 4.11-9 fixes stuck in intro the game is playable but stutters when there are too many zombies.

Just works. Max settings. I tested vsync to see if I get the same issue reported by others, but found that it still works fine. Minor slowdowns very occasionally, but I have no idea how that compares to running this natively on Windows.

With Vsync Off, runs flawlessly with maxed out graphics. If Vsync is turned on, mouse controls are stiff to the point it's almost impossible to aim or turn the camera around.

Refuses to launch

Mouse controls are so stiff that it's almost impossible to move the camera around or to aim, making the game unplayable. Mouse struggles to work even in menus. If not for that it would be Platinum, since the graphics and performance are ok.

With all the graphics settings set to the max and with 1080p resolution, sometimes drops down to 40 FPS, but it's 100% playable. No tweaks needed.

Cinematics loaded fine but no in-game audio. Decent framerate, mainly 60 FPS on defaults.

Sometimes drops down to 40-ish FPS, otherwise fully playable

low/unstable framerate

low/inconsistent framerate

It works fine except the Mouse controls are stiff, like I'm using a mouse as a D-Pad, can barely turn the camera.

Frame drops and stutters are too frequent to be playable, but disabling anti-aliasing helps a lot
