If you've previously played on Windows, Steam fails to synchronise cloud saves. This is because the game's Linux installation puts a file at the location ~/.config/unity3d/SomaSim/Project Highrise/prefs. On the Windows installation, this is actually a folder

Proton versions:

Proton 6.3-6 Menu works great, game crashes when load a save file or start a new game. Audio seems to glitch intermittently
Proton 5.13-6 game does not start
Proton 5.0-10 game does not start
Proton 4.11-13 game does not start

Adding "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" or "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" or "unset LC_ALL && %command%" to startup options made no difference.
