Make sure your proton is above 9.0-4 and the default keyboard layout sucks. Press backspace to config it. WASD is left joystick and L is A.
I switch to the latest proton which is 9.0-4 to make it work. Generally latest proton is stable enough, so don't forget to set your default proton version to the latest possible in Setting > Compatibility.
Some sounds normal some sounds cracking. Generally the volume is too low.
Keyboard input is not supported if proton < 9.0-4
Need to check proton version and sound effects are not good enough

I had to turn on the full screen in the settings
WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR_MODE=ultra gamemoderun %command%

As long as you have a controller, it's all good
At first launch, you must manually enable fullscreen.
Keyboard input does not work. Must use controller.
No observable difference from windows. Played with xbox one controller and everything was mapped correctly from the start.
Played flawlessly without any tinkering. Played with xbox one controller. Mapped from the start without any action. Started windowed, as soon as I entered main menu, I switched to fullscreen without any issues.
Could not make it full screen, even after changing the config.ini
After changing to Proton 7.0-6 all worked fine with the controller
__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia $command$
Have the same problems on Windows. Running on the default setting on my HW, will give the max quality, FXAA On, and MSAA on 2. This will cause the FPS to drop to 45-50 and slow motion. Turning off the MSAA works.
Resolution needs to be changed to 1200x800 by pressing Y on the main menu. Everything else seems to run well.
Resolution needs to be changed to 1200x800 by pressing Y on the main menu
Standard MP experience
gamemoderun %command%
Resolution needed to be changed to 1280x800
Need to change resolution to 1280x800
*Without change the game shows 1/4th.
*Recomend changing to full then change resolution to 1280x800
Need to change config to 1280x800
without config change resolution is far to large for steam deck screen. This makes it impossible to navigate menus or play. Must change res to play
Title Screen has some minor glitching when leaves fall. Noticed nothing else.
Works fine with latest Proton Experimental Beta, and Glorious Eggroll. No tinkering beyond that. Starts in windowed mode swapped to fullscreen just fine. I have also modded the game with Boruto Storm Redux. No issues. Fully playable. Have not tried online, but I don't believe there is an anti-cheat so it should work.
Kinda disappointing that keyboard controls don't work in-case you only have one controller available.
Keyboard controls don't work, only controller input works.

Fullscreen caused some weird visual artifacts and caused the game to crash at the character select screen. Switching to windowed mode fixed both of these.
run out of the box
Runs smoothly out of the box
Used Proton Experimental
full screen stops the game window from refreshing and just gets stuck with no interaction possible.
windowed works like a charm on the other hand.
Game sometimes goes into slow motion during gameplay if video settings are set to 60fps, changing to 30 fps fixed the issue but 60 fps works most of the time
Some proton versions may not work with the game as the game does not launch at all. Others have a problem where the game crashes when hashirama is selected or hanabi is hovered over in the character select screen. And different versions of proton have the game completely working.
These versions are entirely dependent on ones computer, some have reported the latest version of proton working, while others had a good experience with proton eggroll and I myself had the best experience with proton experimental.
So to sum it up, try different proton versions until one works with no problem and also make sure you have the right graphics drivers installed or else you might experience your graphics card crashing like I did.

Game installs and runs, but accepts no input beyond opening the steam overlay
As said above, it does install and it does run. However, despite this, I cannot click anything or go beyond the title screen. Connecting a controller doesn't change anything, running it from big picture doesn't change anything, I even tried using Lutris and got the same result. I have tried using different proton versions available on steam, but it changed nothing. I can however open the steam overlay, but it flickers rapidly so it doesn't exactly work well either. As a result, I currently cannot play it at all.
I can't get keyboard and mouse input into the game window. Any help on this is appreciated
Plug your controller and enjoy
keyboard input doesn't work
You can edit config.ini to change resolution to make it fullscreen. Works perfectly with controller
keyboard doesn't work but controller is through steam big picture mode
Be sure to use Proton 3.16-9 newer versions caused my computer to completely freeze with nothing responding.
Other distros don't seem to be having a problem but Arch Linux with only integrated graphics was having this issue for me.
Game works well in 60 FPS but has some problems with gamepad
Gamepad's input doesn't work quite well
can not get past intro video. input not working at all, no keyboard, no mouse, no gamepad (xbox360 or speedlink)
tried proton 6.3.5,5.13,4.11

Proton-6.5-GE-2 GloriousEggroll GloriousEggroll
The game runs out of the box
Make sure to enable 60 FPS in game settings.
By default the game loads at 30FPS, and it seemed to stutter so much it felt lower than that.
Just turn 30 -> 60 for FPS in the settings menu.
Plays Perfectly Fine But With Possible Slight Performance Issues (hardware dependent?) and Occasional Blank Screens
Certain ultimate combination attacks, regular ultimate attacks (only one or two I can think of, but they're spoilers), and cutscenes sometimes become a solid purple screen with a gradient that blocks out the view of whatever is supposed to be shown.
Very annoying but not game-breaking.
Some combination ultimate attacks sometimes has a decent performance impact, but note that this report is about my experience on a GTX1060, so better hardware could likely not have this issue.
Excellent u play out of the box, ignore before comments, playing all in 60 fps

Keyboard doesn't work
This game, unlike part 3, supports keyboard input by default but it doesn't work with either proton or winesteam.
Runs perfectly out of the box

anda perfecto con proton v5
El online funciona sin problemas, y los gráficos van bien. Puede activarse v-sync sin problemas.
Todo funciona bien, excelente juego si eres fan de Naruto o te gusta la serie.
No he podido jugar haciendo uso del teclado.
Perfect out of the box with proton 4.11-11 with steam controller also

Pressed play and worked perfect. Only small thing I have noticed is down dpad on dualshock 4 acts as if it is being pressed twice in menu

Story, Free Battle and Online Battle all tested and worked perfectly for me out of the box. I also played a few minutes of Adventure mode and had no problems.
