There aren't too many things that make the experience worse than usual. Custscenes don't play though
Fully customized controlls to my liking. There aren't many in the game, so it worked out great
Sometimes launching the game doesn't switch to the main window. Pressing "Escape" helps
The game doesn't support Steam Deck resolution by default and doesn't run when plugged to an external display
Occasional stutter at the start of a mission
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/431-project-freedom-dummy-mpegdll/ I have installed this patch and finally game started succesfully. Before this patch, Steam was saying "Running" but game wasn't showing up. But now no cutscenes are shown.
I couldn't play much because my hardware is very low end. But I could test if the game was working etc.

Game does not boot with Proton 5.0-5. Just shows a black screen for half of a second and closes.
Game was working fine on Proton 4.11-13 with this (https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/431-project-freedom-dummy-mpegdll/) patch.

Go to the games home folder and unzip the file from step 1 and replace mpeg.dll (or rename it) with the this new one .
This new mpeg.dll apparently doesn't run the movies. Otherwise runs fine. You can watch the movies in mplayer but if you don't you've lost nothing whatsoever :)
Game runs ok so far but I only tried the first three tutorial missions.
Good luck

No movies. Choppy gameplay during shooting/combat. Steam overlay manually disabled.

Runs OK, but a little bit jittery on my old box. Tried som launch options with no difference.
