While the game fails to start with the default graphics translation, it DOES run with latest Proton with Wine's D3D (OGL)
Tinker Steps:Switch to older version: 5.13-6, Set launch options
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
The game fails to launch with default Proton configuration, probably given its age. It does run, however when forcing Wine's default D3D implementation using OpenGL (PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1). Tested in two different hardware configurations and the game does run just fine in both (one older AMD FX based one with nvidia GTX 10 series, and one newer Ryzen 3000 series with RTX 30 series)
