No issues
I got defaulted to Proton Experimental, which works now

Last Proton Experimental updates seems to allow Hard Chip to run without any thinkering other than setting the compatibility tool to Proton Experimental. No need to install custom protontkg anymore.

Tested with Steam flatpak; you can follow the manual instructions from https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom?tab=readme-ov-file#manual-1 except the zip file is from https://github.com/Frogging-Family/wine-tkg-git/actions/workflows/proton-arch-nopackage.yml (you must be logged in to GitHub to dl the zip file). It should work with the Steam native version as well.

Game doesn't boot with Proton however the latest versions of wine-stable work with this game. To make this game work on steam, get Proton TKG built with wine-master on the wine-tkg-git page. The dev also re-encoded the audio to workaround mfplat issues! Very cool, Will puzzle chips again

If you don't mind missing the music (mfplat missing maybe ?), all other audio sounds are working.
TKG-proton-9.17.r8 used from https://github.com/Frogging-Family/wine-tkg-git/actions/runs/10975794368
Have fun but bring your own music :D

Game won't start. looks like a missing dll and I have no idea how to add it (although I'm looking into it).
According to the PROTON LOG=1
launch option output, the error seems to be dispatch_exception L"Failed to load System.Private.CoreLib.dll (error code 0x8007046C)"
, which is referencing a dll that (in my brief research) seems to be for some form of cryptography. No clue why that would be needed in this game, but hoping I find something soon-ish or that it is removed from the dependencies.
