Do not use the native Linux port, it runs horrible and is extremely outdated. Use Proton and run the Windows version
Changed gyro to only activate when holding 'L' to match the Switch port I'd played before
Text is very small, I didn't have much of a problem, but if you have trouble reading fine print it will be a challenge
Definitely some frame rate spikes between 30-60 FPS. Runs a LOT better than the Switch port I was used to though so it didn't bother me much. It never dips super low, but it's definitely noticable
Had a great time so far with this game on the Deck and will continue to.

%command% -force-d3d11
Not many people playing this game anymore but the online works just fine.
I kept seeing pink boxes instead of text on the title screen even after trying all the tweaks other people mentioned. The only thing that worked for me was running with -force-d3d11 and now it runs exactly as it would in Windows.
Some text is pretty small
The game is pretty old and dead, the lobbies are empty but they still work.
Runs 60 FPS everywhere OOTB, also controls very nicely with the Steam Deck without any controller configuration.
As others have mentioned the native linux version didn't work very well, but running with proton (experimental) it ran smoothly and without issue
Tried a few Proton versions. Only loads in DX9 compatibility mode. Almost all graphics are rendered as magenta shapes, making play unfeasible at best.
gamemoderun %command%
working like normal i saw the peeeople running areeoound.
despite running at deck's native 800p, cursor is locked to top left 3/4 of screen, so you can't proceed through any menus
if i could enable controller support maybe it would work well enough.
I was only able to get my PS3 controller working with this version of Proton. All other versions I tested did not work.
The native Linux build is outdated, so you have to force use of Proton to get it working properly. I also recommend installing the unofficial patch, which you can find on the Discord server. It only works with the Windows version, which is another reason to use Proton.
Highly recommended. Linux version is outdated, and the game runs fine on Proton.
Steam Input for this game, which was broken on windows, works on Linux with Proton due to the different way Wine reports controller information to the game. If you have a Steam Controller, Proton is the best way to play this game.

dxvk doesn't render characters. d9vk is completely broken.
Force Steam to use the Windows version with proton instead.
Add PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% to the game's launch options.
