Needed to match frame rate to monitor refresh rate to stop jitters during movement. Turning on vsync broke the demonhead (doesn't fire).

Disfrutable

The Native Version runs pretty well with no issues besides "low" fps. 120 Fps compared to 300+ Fps on Proton. Proton Experimantel runs with higher fps and also no issues.
I recommend the proton version

Native had no sound, and Experimental crashes during start up. Rolled back to 8.05 and everything works and plays fine, with sound.

Native Linux version has terrible performances, forcing Proton Experimental was enough to solve my issues
Native Linux version doesn't play cutscenes audio
Native Linux version has terrible performance
Native Linux version crashed like 5 minutes into playing

120FPS when playing linux native vs 200FPS when playing with proton
Really slow at first launch, but just closed out of it and relaunched it and zero issues!
Works out of the box
Runs Perfectly Out Of The Box. Proton was needless for me

native version doesn't work, proton flawless
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command%

SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland
Without adding this line the game wouldn't run on my current system. Maybe it's due to the imperfect drivers for RDNA3 at the moment. With my previous RTX 2060 it worked without the added line.
Minor frame rate dips during cutscenes and busy sections
Lowest FPS was 50 FPS, but only happened once; turning down settings may guarantee 100% stable frame rates
Just play on proton ;)
I had steamos crash right when I got the pistol. As in it got steamos to loop the logo until I powered it off by holding the button. No progress lost and it was only a minor annoyance, but other than that I runs great!
Works out of the box
No apparent performance loss compared to the windows version.

When it runs, runs quite smoothly. Initial instability may have been due to not starting fresh.
crashes once when loading an old save --- from the native linux version.
had a few crashes (with "sorry about it" popup messages that take you back to the menu) at the beginning. Not sure what caused it but it seems to have stopped.
It's been so long since I played it last, I do not recall whether it used to have those kinds of crashes. They may not even be specific to proton.
