Only when doing the parkour in laras home. When you fail the parkour she gives you some tips. She will repeat the same word over and over until she gives you another tip. Not bothering at all.
The game works perfectly. Just not a long time ago with proton 7.0-6 the game was very laggy without tinkering. Now with 8.0-5 it works great with no tinkering.
He cambiado a modo ventana con la siguiente resolucion 640x360. Esto arregla el problema de los videos, que no podÃan ver.
60/30, TDP 3W
Colors are weird. Not garrish or broken... just weird. In comparison to the Windows version.
Everytime you die the game hard freezes and there's nothing you can do to unfreeze it. You can stop this from happening by loading the game before Lara dies but you need the reflexes for that! If you don't or you forget have fun killing the process through Steam Layout and relaunching the game :)
Cutscenes are borked.
I disagree with others that the experience here is acceptable. Better to just play this version somewhere else.
Occasional crashes when dying or loading a save
Cutscenes do not display

##Use dgVoodoo 2 to make the cinematics/FMVs works
Downlad dgVoodoo 2 from here: http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/
Decompress it and go to
/path/to/dgVoodoo2_79_3/MS/x86/
.Copy
D3D8.dll
,D3DImm.dll
andDDraw.dll
and paste them in the game folder.Yo can go there with:- Right click in the game in the Steam Library, Manage, Browse local files.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Tomb Raider (II)/
.
Add the launch options
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8,d3dimm,ddraw=n" %command%
right click in the game in the library, Properties, paste it and close the window.Launch the game
Alt-Tab bugs the game, avoid it.
Without the cutscenes you miss the story.
Cutscenes seem to be missing
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8,d3d9,d3dimm,ddraw=n" gamescope -f -- %command%
Fix FMVs:
FMV did not render properly by default when run in fullscreen mode
You need to use dgVoodoo2 to make FMV render correctly.
Install dgVoodoo2 as described here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxqvRO2AMyU
Fix 16:9 support
Install TR2 Audomated fix for correct 16:9 support: https://github.com/Carlmundo/TombRaider2-AutomatedFix
- Game -> Settings -> Browse local files
- Move 2 folder up and enter compatdata/225300
- Download/copy the AUtomated FIx here
- Then open up a terminal in this folder and write:
- WINEPREFIX=$PWD wine ./TR2AF_1.0.exe
- Locate your steam instalaltion of TR2 (usually somwhere inside Z:)
- Let the installer do it's work.
Use gamescope
If you run the game in window mode FMV also render without use of dgVoodoo2 but only in a tiny portion of the screen.
I adivce to use gamescope as a virtual display to make it behave like a windowed fullscreen game and to avoid ALT+Tabbing issues which some users reported to have.
Sometimes crashes if you die or on level ends
Without tinkering there is no 16:9 support and FMV render black while occationaly they work but rather rare.

I used the default Lutris install script for installing the GOG version
change to community controller profile
Window doesn't accept input. Fullscreen just crashes.
videos not playable
Alt-Tab (change focus) hangs game. Fullscreen and window mode work.
Videos not upscale to full window but show good.
Played with Proton 5.13-6/6.3-8/5.0-10.
Proton 5.13-6 is best about videos, all version run game more or less good.

Proton-6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton Glorious Eggroll
Cutscenes didn't work in fullscreen
Frequent crashes. Almost always when dying
Widescreen Patch and TR2Main used. Crashing also present without game modifications

6.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton 6.1-GE-2
stability and compatibility is no there yet
only in proton 4.11-13 freezes and crashes, proton 6.0-GE-1 will make it playable, but without cutscenes an without rumble for PS4 :(
1 hours crashes
Super good, full support for ps4 with rumble thru steam input and TR2Main
In game settings, set joystick to xinput controller 1, and have steam input on. Download https://github.com/Arsunt/TR2Main/issues/14 Proton 4.11-13
If you tab out and back in (in windowed mode at least) control inputs no longer work
FMVs sometimes play but not scaled to the window, sometimes only audio plays
Switching from fullscreen to window then back to fullscreen again gives black screen. Otherwise no problem as long as you do not switch during this game.

Works
Played with Proton 5.0-7. In-game settins - windowed game.
It would be too complicated to explain here. Voodoo is quick to install, but you will need much more things to have audio working properly.
Make it simple:
Download the game, then install it with Lutris:
https://lutris.net/games/install/11129
Then play on Lutris or copy/paste the folder created by Lutris to the Steam's folder.
(it only works with Vulkan, with OpenGL everything will be black)
Works flawlessly using vgVoodoo2. Cut scenes work and music.
Just copy and paste files from dgVoodoo2 download. Then add libraries via protontricks and winecfg. Run dgVoodooCpl once and your good to go.

If you can live with having a black screen during FMV scenes, and you don't need to alt-tab to other windows during gameplay.
FMV scenes play audio but show a black screen.
Alt-tabbing to another window and back while in a menu or in-game results in the screen going black and I have to force quite and start the game again.
Occasional slowdowns
In addition to the aforementioned issue of screen going black when alt-tabbing to another window and back to the game, the game will sometimes also crash at this point.
I said "no" because I think that music and story is an important part of the game (or at least it is for me).
CD tracks seems to be broken (story dialog starts playing instead of music). You can avoid this problem by removing the CD player data file, but music and in game story sequence will not have sound.
FMVs doesn't work on full screen

Broken with Proton 5.0-1 Runtime Error! Program: ...\share\Steam\steamapps\common\Tomb Raider (II)\Tomb2.exe abnormal program termination
Broken with Proton 5.0-1, Mesa 19.3, Mageia 7 64-bit, AMD Ryzen 2500u

The game starts with no cutscenes. Game then is playable with the occasional slowdown.
I then tried to run with wine, and its not perfectly stable but the cutscenes do play, and the settings dialog appears before the game starts the first time.
So for now, I'd say stick to wine.

Working perfectly out of the box.

No intro video, but the game works fine on Proton.

Black screen when started for the first time. After that runs great.

More or less playable but suffers many slowdowns.

The copyright screen came up, but then the intro cutscene that normally would have played was black. I pressed Esc and it took me to the title screen, which I could see fine. When I started a new game, there was again a black screen, probably since it is also sort of a cutscene. Pressing Esc got me into the starting area. There was some stuttering, but no crashes or any more black screens after killing the first two tigers and getting the stone dragon idol.
I'm not sure how to get the graphics settings UI (that was part of the original game for the PC) that came up the first time to come back up again. I'm not sure that would even help, but I'll try the tweaks to see if anything helps and aslo play a bit farther in the game.

Does nothing

crashs on startup

it's playable but i get some crashes and it freezes when i commit suizide in the croft manor

Window Opens - Content Black

Game opens in the background and when one switches to this via alt+tab, no input is accepted by the game by either the mouse or the keyboard. Gamepad untested.

Works, some lag. When the game minimize, black screen when restore. Need to stop the game and launch again

Sometimes the game launched and I obtained only a black screen. Sometimes the game launched and losed focus, so the window game gone at the background. When it happened keyboard or gamepad are disabled. Lats thing: no music. When you arrive to the main menu you should hear music.
