Starts good
Played with Proton 9.0-4.

use Widescreen patch,config resolution 1280x800 in sr3.ini
tweaked d-pad map to num 456,not 456
set TDP to 5w
Options>Graphic Options>Dispaly mode,set Resolution to 1280x800 for fullscreen display

Resolution must be set to the maximux available (but it can be forced in the game properties to a lower one before starting the game)
game bug: mouse movement may unfocus character, but it can be easily repositioned
Menus may need mouse, but everything else works fine.

The game starts in a tiny screen. Just choose the right resolution in-game graphics settings.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Works
Game has no window mode
Played with Proton 6.3-8
It runs perfectly now with Proton experimental, last time I've tried it asked for a disk
It asks for disk
Works without issues
The game is running great with a XBOX 360 controller!
Without PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% , it would crash when changing the screen resolution.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Played with Proton 5.0-7 and command params: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Work perfectly just install and play. Only in 27 hours, 3 times the game hung and fell on the desktop.

Forget my previous report!!!! After a general update today (Mesa + Proton) the game is running perfectly.

Playing with intel: it opens, runs OK but the mouse doesn't work ingame (I can't battle). With AMD: nothing happens, even testing all the Proton environment variables.

No noticeable issues, it runs without any additional programs unlike windows
