It just works
It runs at 60 fps

Old but works
Played with Proton 9.0-4.

To have widescreen resolution on the steamdeck for Desert Storm, Desert Storm 2 and Global Storm, you have to edit the registry of the game for 'resolutionIndex' and set it to 2 for Desert Storm and 73 for the other games.
Would get popups saying that the game was unresponsive and asking if i wanted to force quit or wait. This only happened during loading screens. Game wasnt unresponsive. Otherwise worked fine. Would just click wait and it worked ok.
The game is working out of the box, but you'll need to spend time to configure the controller layout as you like
I needed to add a lot of keyboard keys on the controller layout, play the tutorial and change the contols in the way you like (I spend 1 hour in the tutorial just to customize the controls). Also the in game mouse sensivity resets each time you restart the game
Set the TDP to 4, it's improving the battery life without having any performance loss
Don't forget to change the in-game resolution to 1024x768 (is it the only choice, default is 800x600) with the launcher the first time you play. Don't change the graphic settings.
Works good
No window mode
Played with Proton 6.3-8

Works good
Played with Proton 5.0-7
When view solders then horizontal movement of mouse became slow but vertical is ok.

Runs great with minor audio issues
weapon sounds might not play properly when multiple characters are firing simultaneously. (e.g. you can only hear your weapon's first shot but it continues to fire until you let go of left mouse button)
Game worked really well, mouse and keyboard worked flawlessly and everything. It's still a rather tough game though lol

Runs perfectly out of the box.

Just launched without tweaks and it works great. No noticeable issues. Also, it runs better than in regular Wine due to the compositor as it's easier to alt+tab out of the game. Note: I highly recommend disabling mouse acceleration in the settings, since the default acceleration curve is insane.

When I had my 8bitdo controller plugged in the view was constantly being pulled up, but I didn't run into any problems after unplugging the controller.

Nothing to say, its just launches and plays exactly like on Windows.

XBOX 360 Controller messes up during missions, forcing player to restart game without controller. Controller misses return button inside menus, making navigating submenus impossible. Completely stable without controller.
