borderless windowed still has panels visible but regular fullscreen works fine
mouse pointer shows at random and requiers clicking on the game window to regain focus. contrler still works even when pointer is visible
sometimes kernel panics during cutscenes
FSR does not show in menus but i don't know if the game supports it or not.

Runs great on AMD RX 9070. Downgraded graphics slightly to get a consistent 60fps at 4K with scaling. No issues.

It works great out of the box, so no tinkering is needed. On the first boot, a Visual C++ Redistributable installation wizard will appear, completing an install without any problems and letting the game run. Otherwise, you can try to install vc_redist
through protontricks. (Custom launch options are not required; I'm using those as my default.)

I experienced very bad audio crackling straight from the main menu that persisted in game. I was finally able to fix it by changing these Pipewire settings:
.config/pipewire/pipewire-pulse.conf
pulse.min.req = 256/48000
pulse.min.frag = 256/48000
pulse.min.quantum = 256/48000

Installing game required Microsoft C++ Redistributable, but this ran successfully through the pop-up installer shown. Worked out of the box.
Compatibility set to Proton Hotfix
Controller doesn't work, steam input on or off
Works great!

Also worked perfectly fine with Proton Experimental and Hotfix

Every time I tried to start the game, it wanted to install or uninstall C++ Runtime. Go to Wine Configuration and add msvcp140, mscvcp140_1, mscvcp140_2, vcruntime140, vcruntime140_1.
Wine GE-latest Steam Proton couldn't load cutscenes, showed black screen. Switching to Wine GE-latest fixed it.
From time to time, right after starting the game, it refused to recognize my controller. Reloading the game helps.
After fixing the game, I played for 7 hours without any problems.

Great game, runs smoothly.
I started the game on Windows, and I wasn't able to get my Steam cloud saves to continue my save on Nobara Linux

protontricks for installing vc_redist.
I noticed a minor stutter when loading new area or after custscene compared to when on Windows 11.
I noticed a little bit of popin for small objects like rocks on the world map compared to when on Windows 11.
I am on KDE Plasma.

Works flawlessly out of the box
Played it first on Linux Mint 22.1 with kernel 6.8.0-59-generic but I could not get a stable 60 FPS on medium settings. It had an average FPS of around 40. In Bazzite the performance is significantly better and I can run the game with an average FPS of around 55.

Only hiccup after an hour of play was that my system's lock screen triggered during a particularly long cutscene after no input, but running gamemode will (presumably) fix that issue.
I haven't seen others mention it, but during installation I was prompted to install "Microsoft Visual C++ runtime" after booting the game. Clicking install worked without any issue and the game was able to boot as expected.

Requires Windows Visual C++ Redistributable to run
Attempting to boot the game provides a popup that it requires Windows Visual C++ Redistributable to run. I'm sure you could run this with Lutris and Wine or whatever, but for just playing through Steam directly on Linux, it will not run.

I have been playing for 10+ hours without any crashes. But recently (since 8 May 2025) the game unexpectedly crash around every 10 mintues.

Audio does crackle intermittently. Usually at the menu screen and sometimes throughout the game but does not persist.
I would highly recommend playing with a current version of GE-Proton. I was running Experimental and other versions before this and was having issues with cutscenes showing a test screen. GE-Proton fixed the issue and I've been able to play and beat the game.

It works great!
First time I played it froze and crashed after exactly 60min for some reason. No issues after that tho, so im kinda confused xD
Everything seems to work fine besides that weird freeze/crash once. I am playing it with a xbox controller.

Occasional stutters in cutscenes
works fine without anything special done, had one fps drop at one cutscene, but was really great overall

Runs great with minor performance loss
I loose about 10-15 FPS compared to Windows, but the frametimes are much smoother. Aside from that the game runs perfectly fine with no problems and no tinkering needed.
I just used GOverlay / MangoHUD to limit the FPS to 45 since ingame you only have a choice between 30 FPS or 60 FPS.

Plays out of the box
Had no problems at all, plays smoothly, no glitches or stutters so far. The upscaling I had to change to TSR, XeSS makes the game look horribly blurry and fuzzy

SteamDeck=0 %command%

Performance on Linux is pretty are par with windows it seems and is at worst tollerable on the steam deck. Framerate could be better
First install you have to install c++ distributables, there's one yes check box and another window where you have to check a box and hit install, but only the first time
Just in some parts the text is small, unless you have issues reading up close you'll probably be fine, some points it's helpful to use the magnifying shortcut
In the mansion there's some really gross light artifacts with Decky framegen, and you need to use that or xess to make the framerate at least up to 30 in most parts of the game if not slightly under that
I had one single crash when trying to stream it from my linux desktop to the steam deck.
This is one of the better performing UE5 games on linux. It's just so unfortunate how unoptimized the engine is, it's really not this games fault. You can get decent performance on beefyier hardware.
